Supply and Installation of New Electrical Power Centers & MCC for ES-6 – Azzawiya Oil Refinery

Summary of the project

The EPC project involved engineering, procurement, replacement, testing, and commissioning of a new power center and MCC at substation ES-6 in Azzawiya Oil Refinery. The existing switchboards were over 45 years old.

New LV switchgear from ABB (Poland) was delivered, FAT-tested, and installed during the refinery shutdown.

Scope included dismantling old switchboards, installation of new LV PC6 (12 panels), six MCCs, ASPB switchboard, and one LV DCS panel, laying and connecting new LV cables, setting protection devices, and testing & commissioning.

Upon completion, ES-6 substation was upgraded with modern withdrawable LV switchboards and advanced protection units, ensuring reliable power supply for refinery operations.
