REPAIRS OF FLOATING ROOF OF TANK NO.D-909 AT ZAWIA TANK FARM

Summary of the project

BPC successfully completed the repair of the carbon steel floating roof on crude oil storage tank D-909 at the Zawia Tank Farm using advanced composite materials. This innovative repair approach was selected over conventional patching methods due to its faster execution, enhanced reliability, and superior durability, particularly important given the aggressive environmental conditions at the site.

BPC selected and approved composite materials from Belzona Ltd., UK, as the designated manufacturer for the repair. All work was executed in strict accordance with Belzona's method statements and application guidelines. The entire process was supervised and documented by a QA/QC officer to ensure full compliance with quality standards. Upon completion, the repair dossier was submitted to Belzona for warranty approval, securing a five-year guarantee period.
